Welcome to “The Away Fan Guide”

The purpose of the guide is to enable you, as an away supporter, to know what facilities there are in the near vicinity of the ground you are going to visit.
After what can sometimes be a long and reasonably tiring journey, it is always good to know, in advance, where you can go for something to eat or drink both before and after the match.
If your journey has been a particularly long one, you may feel that you want to stay over, and  it is likely you have no idea where you can obtain reasonably inexpensive accommodation.
This is where the “AWAY FAN GUIDE comes into its own.
Contained within the pages on the website, there are a number of outlets that cater for your needs. There are Hotels, Guest Houses (B&B), Restaurants, Pubs and for the kids, if you are making a week-end of it, Places of Interest. These can all be accessed by clicking on the individual club pages. It must be stressed that the football clubs do not endorse these outlets, and as such the outlets have no affinity to the clubs
There are not dozens and dozens to choose from at each club location. There is no intention to create a competitive platform. Rather an ability on the part of the guide to furnish you, the supporter, with a choice of good and tested services, that are not going to “break the bank”
To navigate the site is very straight forward:

  1. Choose the league you are in. i.e.Blue Square North or Unibond Premier
  2. Click on the name of the team you are playing on the left hand side of the page.
  3. On the Club page, click on the tool bar along the top of the page to find the type of outlet you are looking for i.e. ‘Hotels’, ‘B&B’, ‘Restaurants’, ‘Bars’ or ‘POI’ (Places of Interest)
  4. On the page that opens, you will get the choice of the outlets.
  5. Simply click on the name of the outlet or its photograph, and the last page will open, giving you all the information you require regarding the outlet you have chosen. Address, Tel No. Tariffs etc.

Don’t forget to tell them you found them through the “Awayfanguide”, and have pleasant stay and a safe journey home.
Good luck to your team for the season
